About BSB Engineering

Metalworks Ltd was formed in 1980 by Mr. Don Bell and Mr. Charles Skinner
to manufacture sheet metal products and a volume control damper for ventilation
ducts.
The company was renamed BSB Engineering Services Limited in 1985 after
Mr. Derrick Behan joined the company and continued to expand in 1986.
1987 saw the launch of the heavy duty control damper, and in 1989 the
curtain blade fire damper was launched - with various modifications, the
product continues to be one of the prime products of the company's portfolio.
During March 1993, Mr. Derrick Behan passed away unexpectedly with his
widow Mrs. Gloria Behan taking control as managing director.
In
December 1995 the company moved from Unit G1 (4,500sq.ft), to Unit E (12,000sq.ft),
then in August 2000 Unit G1 was re-acquired following continued expansion
of products sold and markets.
Mr.
Syd Brunt was employed as sales and marketing executive to promote BSB
nationally and internationally, to represent the company on a number of
trade associations and technical committees, and to expand the client
base into international markets.
