The MFD-IC Series is a circular motorised fire damper designed for installation within fire-resisting walls and floors, providing fire integrity, insulation and smoke leakage performance alongside motorised control.
Available in diameters from 100mm to 315mm, the MFD-IC can be supplied with 24V, 230V or 24V modulating spring-return actuators.
The damper has been tested to BS EN 1366-2, classified to BS EN 13501-3 and CE marked in accordance with BS EN 15650.
The MFD-IC combines a circular galvanised steel casing, calcium silicate fire-resistant blade and spring-return actuator within a compact assembly suitable for circular ductwork.
Key features include:
The MFD-IC is available in eight nominal diameters:
Select a size to highlight it in the tables below.
| Diameter | Approx. Weight | Free Area |
|---|---|---|
| 100mm | 2.81kg | 73% |
| 125mm | 3.13kg | 79% |
| 150mm | 3.46kg | 82% |
| 160mm | 3.59kg | 84% |
| 200mm | 4.17kg | 87% |
| 250mm | 4.93kg | 90% |
| 300mm | 5.76kg | 91% |
| 315mm | 6.02kg | 91% |
The MFD-IC can be supplied with a spring-return actuator in 24V or 230V configurations. A 24V modulating option is also available where proportional control is required.
A factory-fitted thermal fuse is mounted externally to the damper casing, allowing it to be accessed for replacement without entering the duct.
The thermal fuse incorporates a visual indicator to confirm that the actuator is receiving power and that the thermal fuse remains operational.
Available actuator options include:
24V spring-return actuator with thermal fuse
230V spring-return actuator with thermal fuse
24V spring-return modulating actuator with thermal fuse
The casing is manufactured from 0.8mm thick galvanised steel, with rolled and formed edges providing an integrated connection to the adjoining ductwork.
The fire-resistant blade is manufactured from 20mm calcium silicate and connected to the actuator through the damper linkage assembly.
A central intumescent blade seal forms part of the damper construction and contributes to its tested fire-resistance performance.
The integrated installation plate allows the damper to be mechanically fixed to the supporting construction and incorporates fixing positions for masonry and flexible wall installations.
Technical performance data for the MFD-IC includes:
Pressure drop data is provided for the 100mm and 315mm models at fully open, 22.5°, 45° and 67.5° blade positions.
Case leakage and blade leakage information is also provided against the relevant EN 1751 classifications.

The dimensional drawing should be read alongside this table when coordinating the damper within the ductwork and supporting construction.
The MFD-IC is available in diameters from 100mm to 315mm, covering 100, 125, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300 and 315mm models.
The MFD-IC has been fire tested to BS EN 1366-2, classified to BS EN 13501-3 and CE marked in accordance with BS EN 15650.
Yes. Tested installation detail MFD-IC M9 covers installation within the specified drywall partition construction using ablative batt, achieving EI 90 (ve i ↔ o) S under the tested arrangement.
Yes. Installation detail MFD-IC M10 covers installation within a 100mm masonry wall using ablative batt, achieving EI 90 (ve i ↔ o) S under the tested arrangement.
Yes. Tested masonry floor arrangements are available using either ablative batt or mortar infill. The resulting classification varies according to the installation method, so the relevant tested detail should be selected to suit the required fire strategy.
The MFD-IC is available with 24V and 230V spring-return actuators, together with a 24V modulating spring-return option.
Yes. The thermal fuse is externally mounted and can be accessed for replacement without entering the duct.
Correct damper selection depends on more than nominal size. Supporting construction, installation method, required classification and actuator configuration all need to align with the project fire strategy.
