Montcalm Mayfair Hotel

The Montcalm Mayfair is an iconic property on the edge of Hyde Park, having undergone a major transformation and re-opened on 1st April 2025. The renovation balances the building’s historic Georgian facade with a fresh, contemporary design that brings light, space, and luxury to the forefront.

The Challenge

The renovation needed to preserve the Georgian facade and historical character while introducing contemporary elements such as floor-to-ceiling glazing, stylish public areas and luxurious amenities. At the same time, the project had to meet stringent UK fire safety and ventilation requirements for a high-end hospitality environment

The Solution 

BSB’s role was to supply high-quality ES rated Motorised fire dampers that integrate seamlessly into the hotel’s new ventilation and safety systems, supporting both the architectural vision and strict compliance requirements.

  Our dampers played a vital role in achieving both fire safety and smoke control requirements, supporting open-ceiling concepts and floor-to-ceiling glazing without compromise. By combining precision engineering with strict compliance, we ensured the project met the highest safety standards while preserving design intent.
• Aesthetic Compatibility – BSB dampers & Brooke Air Collaboration: BSB dampers and Brooke Air diffusers were carefully integrated into The Montcalm’s interiors, ensuring that essential air distribution and fire safety systems complemented, rather than compromised, the hotel’s luxury aesthetic. Products were customised in finish and design to remain visually unobtrusive—delivering high performance while blending seamlessly with the architecture.
