The Challenge

Bupa required a fully compliant fire and smoke control solution for its Harrow facility, with a critical programme constraint driven by the Christmas shutdown period.

The project demanded not only the correct specification of fire dampers and smoke control systems, but also rapid manufacture, coordinated delivery, and commissioning — all within a tight window to ensure the building could be completed and handed over safely before the holiday break.

Clear communication between the supply chain, distributor, and M&E contractor was essential to meeting this deadline without compromising compliance or performance.

The Solution

BSB Engineering worked closely with AC Mechanical Services Ltd and our key distributor SK Sales (Basildon) to support both the design intent and installation requirements of the project.

From initial order placement, BSB managed the full supply and commissioning programme within just six weeks, ensuring all components were delivered, installed, and commissioned ahead of the customer’s deadline.

The Result

Despite a challenging programme, BSB successfully supplied, supported, and commissioned the full fire and smoke damper system within a month and a half, meeting Bupa’s critical pre-Christmas deadline.

The Harrow facility now benefits from a fully compliant, tested, and operational life-safety system, providing reassurance to both the client and project team.
